Section Officer Planning Weekend Recap

From August 18th – 19th our section officers met for a weekend of planning. In this weekend they planned their goals for the year, section leadership, and were trained in being a section officer.

At Stephen F. Austin University the section officer met to accomplish the following:

  • Establish the 2024 Conclave Leadership
  • Practice presentations
  • Begin planning for Fall COC & Triad
  • Expand our goals on Lodge Impact
  • Further our understanding on Section Office
  •  Plan our goals for office in depth
  • Discuss at length how to best serve our section

Over the course of the weekend the officers developed a concrete game plan on how they can best leave the section better than they found it going into 2024.

Throughout the weekend the officers assigned our nine lodges each to one of the three officers for regular checkins and to build relationships between the section and our lodges. Additionally the officers met with former section chief Zack Mistrot to discuss how to communicate our section via our website. The officers built a program for our monthly Council of Chief’s meetings, and practiced presenting typical LLD presentations and speeches for visiting lodges. The officers worked to develop how we want to grow our key conclave program areas like Shows, ARC, Trading Post, and Experience. Additionally the officers worked to build our section budget proposal and schedule for the in person Fall Council of Chiefs meeting.
